Review | Giggles & Geeks

You know that one question that you always have the answer somewhere lingering in your head but you never want to spill? Yes, that one. The "what do you want to eat" question. Bloody annoying, if you ask me.
So my dad suddenly have the crave to bring us all out to eat yesternight, but I was never excited for it. Reason being, if ever it's only just the two of them (both mom and dad), they would go to fancy schmancy restaurants, but once kids are involved, it's mamak all the way. So we ended up knowing almost all mamak in Cyberjaya, including its general pricing and we rate each cooking. So instead of the usual worldwide question, ours is changed to "which mamak do you want to go?".
However, yesterday was different, I mean I made it different. Was just trying my luck, when my dad actually answered with a 'yes'. Got me wondered if he heard me wrong, but he asked for directions. The only time I ever saw this restaurant was when Sam and I went for a stroll behind our offices, so it was more like a road-guessing direction. Luckily I got it right.
If you ask me, the look of this Bar&Restaurant is a little intimidating if you only have less than RM50 in your pocket. But to my surprise, the overall pricing is rather cheap affordable. The ones I remembered, salad RM22, chicken chop RM20, fish and chips RM20, salmon RM35, nasi goreng RM18, oxtail asam pedas RM26, get what I mean?

But to my surprise (again), they manage to keep me guessing if my order was the only one that's good. That in mind, I smacked a little portion of everyone's meal out of their plates. Tasted just as good! And kudos to the chef for making his own sauce for every western food in the menu. I ordered Grilled Chicken Chop, a common menu I would not normally order because I just don't pig out on chicken chop. Any area of improvement would just go to the chicken skin as it is not only unhealthy but also unattractive. Mine was a little dry, but the meat stays juicy. The baked potato was baked to perfection, same goes to their mashed potato. Not much to say about the vegetables, but that too can be improved, on the variety not on taste. As I mentioned before, the sauce was good.
IMG_3330(1)The restaurant's ambiance is one of the unique thing about it. They had a number of dart sets for customers to play, non-stop. Another surprising thing about this restaurant is, the chefs and waiters are all Malays. I know this place was Halal considering Sam has been here with his colleagues, but to keep my parents from doubting I loudly asked from the kitchen hole if this place is Halal.
IMG_3321(1)It is said that this restaurant was founded by four Chinese doctors, who happened to own the building too. Their portraits are hanged on the wall as wanted posters for wall decorations. Pretty neat and stylish.

Three out of five rating.
